Orca Moving is dedicated to battling the effects of deforestation and climate change.

Carbon Emissions

Together with Cool Earth we are committed to fighting the effects of climate change happening now and in the near future. This year we have decided to increase our contribution to 10% of our revenue. As a result Orca Moving & Storage will now be a fully carbon negative company.

Waste Reduction

Have you checked out our tote rentals? Rather than using single use cardboard boxes, we recommend our reusable and secure plastic moving totes. Moving blankets are also instead of bubble wrap or plastic. We feel every small change can create a big impact!

Cool Earth

Cool Earth works with rainforest communities to halt deforestation and its impact on climate change. Over the years they have been able to help protect nearly 100,000 hectares of rainforest across three continents. Learn more about their mission by clicking the tree icon above.

Our Partnership With Cool Earth

Like any moving company our biggest contribution to global warming comes from the carbon emissions created by our trucks. Until suitable electric vehicles are readily available, we have chosen to do our part in becoming 5x carbon negative instead! Cool Earth works directly with the people indigenous to the land they are helping protect.

Why is the Rainforest so Important?

In the Amazon rainforest alone, a single square mile of rainforest often houses more than 50,000 insect species.

Tropical forests have the highest carbon density of all forest types due to their ability for vast carbon sequestration. Therefore, protecting rainforest is one of the most effective actions we can take to tackle climate breakdown.

Deforestation releases as much carbon into the atmosphere as the global transport sector and destroys the best carbon capture and storage technology we have.

The reality of climate change is no longer up for debate. It is real and it is happening now. Our changing climate is the most pressing challenge facing our world today. Forest loss plays a major part in this, contributing to more than 12% of all CO2 emissions. Keeping rainforest standing is the simplest and cheapest way to mitigate climate change.
