In order to complete your move efficiently, we have created this checklist to answer any questions you
may have and ensure you’re prepared for your upcoming move. Moving is stressful for everyone and we
hope to ease that stress as much of possible by covering all bases. Let’s begin!
Packing – being ready to go when the movers arrive will save you money!
– Boxes – There’s nothing more pleasing to a movers eye then seeing neatly stacked and taped
boxes in your house when we arrive. Taping both the top and bottom of the box is important.
This adds to the strength of the box and allows it to be stackable in the truck. Please label fragile
on boxes. We will be extra careful when handling these specific boxes and stack them on the top
row. Please put heavier items in smaller boxes (especially books).
– Furniture – Empty all dressers, nightstands, credenzas, wardrobes or any other piece with
drawers. We sometimes have to maneuver these pieces through your home and in the truck.
This is especially important with most IKEA furniture or particleboard items.
– Breakables – Point these items out when we first arrive. You can wrap any glass shelving, mirrors
or pictures in towels or extra bedding and tape them. We will also be covering these items with
blankets in the truck, but extra protection always helps.
– Clothes – Purchase wardrobe boxes for items you don’t want wrinkled. Uhaul has the best
pricing. Suitcases and black garbage bags are a great way to move clothes. The bags are perfect
for filling in awkward spaces.
– Lamps – Taking off the lamp shade and unscrewing the light bulb and boxing those items are the
best way to pack lamps. Both items are very fragile and breakable.
– Miscellaneous – Box/pack as much as you can. Loose items take up unnecessary time handling
and packing.
– Disassembly/Reassembly – we offer these services and are quite good at it, but doing it yourself
will be a great cost saver. All of our trucks come with necessary tools to do most jobs. We highly
recommend not using power tools. Furniture and screws can easily be stripped compromising
your furniture.
Please indicate if there are any unique items when requesting an estimate (Pianos, appliances, pool
tables or expensive antiques)
Accessibility – Please keep all walkways and doors to every room accessible. There is a right way to
pack a truck and it always starts with larger items. Having easy access to these items at the beginning of
the move will be helpful.
Care – We strive to treat your items as if they were our own. Please point out any items that require
special care and handling. We will gladly spend more time protecting these items.
Parking – Walking from your front door to the truck and back are very time consuming, especially
when we’re doing this hundreds of times during the move. Please think about where the best place to
park is beforehand. If you’re on a busy street, try to park your own car in that spot the night before and
move it when we arrive. Keep in mind, our trucks can be very big! There might be a loading zone if
you’re in a condo or apartment.
Elevators – You will most likely have to book an elevator for you move if you’re in a condo or
apartment. Contact strata to see when times are available. You’ll have to likely book far in advance if
you want to move at month-end. Booking the elevator will ensure it’s padded for protection and
lockable with a service key.
Payment – We only ask for payment once the move is complete and you are happy with the service.
Payment needs to be made upon the completion of the move. We are currently accepting cash or e-
transfer.
Covid-19 Protocols – our employees will be wearing masks throughout the move. We ask clients to
keep socially distant whenever possible.
